How can you slow down when you constantly need to speed up?

If I have learnt anything over the last couple of years, it's that life goes by way too fast. I know that I'm probably not the only one to say this, but in a world of Netflix (as awesome as it is), being constantly contactable and endlessly scrolling through news feeds on your phone, I feel like you reach a point where you just think enough is enough. I have to do something about it.

First stop, London town.

As a result of all the recent happenings, I had failed to arrange accommodation for my brief stay in London and had been relying upon staying with a dear friend who I was mad to catch up with.

A letter from the Middle East

I didn’t know what it would be like. I had no idea.

Suddenly,  I was on that plane having said goodbye to everything familiar, about to be in the unknown. My reality had taken a backseat and I was surrounded by turbans and burkas, high-rise buildings and desert.

A reminder that you don't have to do it all

I was listening to a podcast this morning and it reminded me that it's normal to feel that you can't do it all.

This decision of mine to go out into business by myself, to try and make a go of it, is a tough one, precisely because, if you're in the right job,  you are doing all of the things you love, but for other people.

Playlist / 01

After months and months of listening to Spotify with ads, I recently decided to go premium. I'm still not sure that it's 100% worth the expense, but I am enjoying creating playlists to work to and stumbling upon some new artists. If you've any playlist suggestions, feel free to share in the comments. Oh and enjoy!

Gardening and other thoughts

I can't think of a better way to spend a weekend - sunshine, family and friends.

At the beginning of the month, the site that I was working on for Cork ARC, a local cancer support service close to my heart, was officially launched.

another day, another year

Today is the exact same as yesterday. That is, except for the passing of time. And the dawn of a new year brings with it expectations and reflections. All of these thoughts and questions make you wonder if you're going in the right direction or if you need to redefine the goal and the path to get there.

Today, I have been thinking about these next steps.  My goals for 2015 are beginning to take shape, as make a long list and start to plan.
